Misr Flying Institute (MFI)
Introduction :
Misr flying institute was established in 1933 at Imbaba aerodrome and it was the only flying institute in the Middle East. Hundreds of pilots from Africa, Asian and Arab countries graduate from this institute.
Cessna 152, Cessna F 172N, Beechcraft Baron (B.55), Beechcraft Baron (B.58), Bonanza F 33A, and Commander B 114 aircraft are used for flight training. Besides, there are two single-engined simulators, and two twin-engined simulators used for training, in addition to an audio visual language laboratory. An aviation library and well-equipped workshops in two hangars are utilized for maintenance and overhaul of the fleet.
Engineers and technicians receive scheduled training necessary to obtain aircraft maintenance engineer license (Airframes, engines and avionics) on different types of aircraft. Integrated pilot courses (scheduled courses) start annually at the beginning of January.
